How to Prepare Your Warehouse for the Summer Heat

Is your company’s warehouse air conditioned? If not, it’s going to get awfully hot inside of it once the temperatures start to rise this summer. There are steps you should take to keep your warehouse space as cool as possible. Take a look at tips for doing it below.

Install ceiling fans and industrial fans.

One of the easiest ways to cool off a warehouse is by installing fans throughout it that can keep air circulating at all times. The last thing you want to do is have hot air sitting stagnantly within your warehouse. Ceiling fans are great for keeping circulation levels up. You can also strategically place industrial fans in areas where your employees are working to cool them off and prevent them from overheating.

Use dehumidifiers.

If the humidity levels in your warehouse are too high, it’s going to feel even hotter than it is. By removing the humidity from the air, you can make it feel cooler even if the temperature is still relatively high. Running dehumidifiers throughout your warehouse is more cost effective than running an AC and will have a similar effect. It’ll often start to feel cooler in your warehouse in a matter of just hours.

Reduce equipment use.

When you use equipment inside of your warehouse, you will often increase the temperature. That’s because your equipment will generate heat when it’s turned on and that heat will get trapped inside of the warehouse and add to the heat that’s already there. During the summer, try and cut down on how often you use equipment. Have your equipment inspected, too, to make sure it’s running as efficiently as possible.
